Tom Beaumont (right middle) explains the LAZRSpray device.
We are a patent- and trademark-protected sports technology company that has created a world-first performance support tool and tracking device for match officials.
The device gives referees precise distance measurements from a stationary object to aid them in specific match situations, such as positioning the free-kick wall, while collecting real-time statistics on referee movement and positioning.
Led by LAZRSpray CEO Tom Beaumont, who has more than three decades of industry expertise, the device has been built with input from leading bodies in football, technology, and safety, and undergone more than 1,000 hours of engineering.

Otto Kolbinger and Daniel Link published a study from the 2013/14 and 2014/15 Bundesliga seasons.
The study explored the use of vanishing spray – a recent addition to football at the time – and its impact on reducing rule violations during free-kick situations.
The results showed IFAB’s required ball-to-wall distance (at least 9.15 meters or 10 yards), which referees manually measure during free-kick situations, was still subject to inconsistent application without a precise measuring tool.
1 in 2
free-kick walls were within 0.5 meters of the correct position (50.6%).
1 in 3
free-kick walls were between 0.5 meters and 1.5 meters away from the correct position (38.6%).
1 in 10
free-kick walls were more than 1.5 meters away from the correct position (10.8%).
